Monthly Calendars

The monthly calendars are child friendly as they include pictures for your child to help identify what we will be doing that day. Suggestion: Print or post the monthly calendars somewhere where your child can see it. This provides a great opportunity to discuss concepts such as today, yesterday, tomorrow etc. You can talk about the days of the week, what month it is, what year it is etc. I have included links to videos to learn the months of the year and the days of the week. Each school day we will look at the calendar and discuss the days, activities etc.

Thursday/Friday switch dates:

Throughout the school year the district switches the Thursday early dismissal days to the following Friday. Although Kindergarten does not have school on Thursdays, we are still required to switch these days as well. During these switches, Kindergarten will have class on Thursday but not on Friday.

May:

Spring Concert May 1 during the daytime
Mother's Day Event: May 9th Mom's, grandma's, aunt's, special female family friend, are encouraged to attend. Students will be doing a short performance and then making a clay project with the special female in their life.

June:

Grade 1 Orientation day: Thursday, June 8th. 8:10am - 11:00pm (ALL KINDERGARTEN CLASSES) There will be no bussing available on this day as it is a Thursday when Kindergarten doesn't typically have classes. Parents will drop off their child at the grade 1 doors at 8:10am and pick up at 11:00am at grade 1 doors. Kindergarten students will have an opportunity to spend the morning in the grade 1 class to help them prepare for next year. More information will be sent out.

Parent/Father's Day Event: Thursday, June 12 8:30- 10:30 a.m. (All kindergarten classes) Dad's, uncle's, grandpa's or family friend is encouraged to attend. There will be no bussing available on this day as it is a Thursday when Kindergarten doesn't typically have classes. Kindergarten students will need to be brought to school and picked up that day if attending and an adult should stay to help build their Father's Day toolbox. Students will perform a song and build a toolbox. A fee of $15 will be added to PowerSchool to pay. More details to follow.

Year End Kindergarten Farewell June 25. Parents are welcome to attend. Students will perform a song and watch a year end slide show. More details will be sent out at a later date.
